ROSE MODAK


               This Vinayaka Chaturthi, try this easy version of Modaks with a hint of Rose flavor.




 Cuisine: Indian Vegetarian
 Serves : 6 ( one single serving)
 Prep Time: 30 minutes
 Level: Easy


From the Pantry:

1. Dessicated Coconut( dry)    1.25 cups
 
2. Rose water or Rose essence.      1/4 tspn.   ( if these two are not available, you can use Rose syrup, but it will give slightly different flavor...)

3. Raw Beetroot Juice    2 tspns.

4. Ghee 1 tblspn.

5. Condensed Milk. 1/2 cup

6. Modak molds

7. Pistachio powder coarse ( 5 pistachios)

  
                                               



Method:

1.In a heavy bottomed pan on low heat setting, add dessicated coconut, condensed milk and beetroot juice and mix well adding ghee 3/4 tabspn. till all mixed well and chewy.

2. remove from heat and add rose essence or water and mix well. Spread on plate to cool a bit.

3. When still warm to touch, grease modak molds with ghee inside and shape into modaks.

4. Roll top of modaks in pistachio powder and serve....
