Grocery List:
1. Cauliflower florets. washed and chopped 1 cup
2. Cilantro Leaves a few washed and chopped fine
3. Ginger small 1/4 inch piece washed and chopped fine
From the Pantry:
1. Turmeric powder. a pinch
2. Chilli powder. a pinch
3. Kitchen King Masala ( MDH). OR any garam masala a pinch
4. Rai 1/8 tspn.
5. Jeera ( whole) OR cumin powder. 1/8 tspn.
6. Asafoetida. a pinch
7. Cooking oil 1 tbspn.
8. Salt to taste
9. Water. 1/8 cup
Method:
1. In a heavy, flat pan on low heat add cooking oil. To this add rai and Jeera or cumin powder and asafoetida and ginger. Let rai splutter.
2. Add Kitchen King Masala or any garam masala and immediately add cauliflower florets.
3. Turn heat to medium and add salt to taste, turmeric powder and red chilli powder. Coat cauliflower florets well with the spices.
4. Add water and let water evaporate. Turn vegetables till bit brown and turn off heat.
5. Garnish with cilantro leaves.
Note: Serve hot with plain rice and dal or Rotis or Naan.
