Grocery List:
1. Cauliflower 3/4 cup washed and diced into small florets
2. Cilantro a few leaves washed and chopped finely
3. Green Peas fresh or frozen 1/4 cup washed ( if fresh peas, shell the peas)
4. Ginger fresh 1/4 inch piece washed and chopped finely
From the Pantry:
1. Turmeric powder a pinch
2. Red chilli powder a pinch
3. Jeera 1/2 tspn.
4. Rai 1/2 tspn.
5. Asafoetida a pinch
6. Cooking oil any 1 tbspn.
7. salt to taste
Method:
1. In a heavy flat bottomed pan on low heat, add cooking oil, asafoetida, jeera, rai. Let rai crackle.
2. immediately add washed cauliflower florets and washed peas.
3. Add salt to taste, red chilli powder and turmeric powder.
4. Add washed and chopped cilantro leaves.
5. On medium heat, coat the vegetables well with oil and spices and salt.
6. Turn vegetables from time to time till all water evaporates( water is from washing vegetables) and vegetables turn a bit brown.
7. Remove from heat.
Note: Serve hot with Plain Rice, Rotis or Naan
