Spinach Subji (Plain)
(Slow Cooker Recipe)

Prep time: 1 and 1/2 hours ( minimum)
Serves: 2
Grocery List:
1. A small bunch of Spinach bundle chopped and washed very well in running water.
2. Cilantro leaves
3. Curry leaves
From the Pantry:
1. Jeera 1tspn.
2. Rai 1 tspn.
3. Red chilli powder. a pinch
4. salt to taste
5. asafoetida powder a pinch
6. urad dal 1 tspn.
7. any cooking oil 1 tbspn.
8. water 1/2 cup
method:
1. add the washed spinach to crockpot and add 1/2 cup water and cook on high heat.
2. add salt, jeera. let cook till water almost evaporated or 1 and 1/2 hours whichever is first.
3. add curry leaves and cilantro leaves a few washed and chopped fine.
4. add red chilli powder.
5. in a tadka pan on low heat, add cooking oil, asafoetida, rai and urad dal. let rai crackle and immediately pour over spinach. Mix well.
Note: Serve hot with plain rice and rasam, rotis or naans.
